At a Glance

Although our broader partnership with Thermo Fisher began in 2017, in 2019 we launched a specialised, EMEA-wide NGS recruitment project to support the rollout of Genexus™, Thermo Fisher’s next-generation sequencing (NGS) platform for both RUO and clinical markets.

We successfully staffed 80% of Thermo’s EMEA NGS sales team, playing a pivotal role in driving Genexus adoption across the region.

Challenge:

  • Amid limited market recognition for their NGS solutions, the challenges of the COVID era, and a scarcity of sales talent with domain expertise, scaling the EMEA commercial team required highly targeted recruitment and deep industry knowledge.

  • Rapid identification of top NGS sales professionals with relevant domain expertise across key EMEA markets.

What began as a regional collaboration soon became a trusted partnership between SRC-Search and Thermo Fisher’s commercial and talent acquisition teams across EMEA — built on open communication, shared goals, and mutual respect. Together, we created a smooth, effective process, combining Thermo Fisher’s internal expertise with SRC Search’s NGS market insight.

Over just 10 months, we helped the company hire 20 key NGS professionals across Europe, including Account Managers, Technical Sales Specialists, and Sales Leaders in markets such as Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, Poland, Italy, Spain, Sweden, and Belgium. Each placement brought new energy and knowledge to Thermo Fisher’s commercial organisation.

This focused NGS recruitment effort was instrumental in launching and expanding the Genexus™ platform, accelerating clinical NGS adoption and strengthening Thermo Fisher’s position as a leader in precision oncology across EMEA.
