Oxford Nanopore Technologies, founded in 2005 as a spin-out from the University of Oxford, develops and markets nanopore-based sequencing devices capable of delivering real-time, long-read analysis of DNA, RNA, and epigenetic modifications. Its product range spans from the portable MinION to the high-throughput PromethION, enabling applications from field-based pathogen surveillance to large-scale genomic projects. Unlike traditional sequencers, ONT’s technology streams data as it’s generated, supports ultra-long reads, and can directly detect modifications – making it a flexible choice for research, applied, and increasingly clinical settings.
The company is expanding into clinical diagnostics and applied markets, supported by partnerships with institutions and AI-powered analysis providers to enable rapid interpretation for areas like rare disease and oncology.

In 2023, Oxford Nanopore Technologies accelerated its global expansion through major investments in its organisational infrastructure and commercial execution.

Results
Between January and July 2024, Oxford Nanopore Technologies partnered exclusively with SRC-Search to drive their commercial recruitment strategy across the EMEAI region. This collaboration was built on the need for speed, precision, and deep sector expertise in sourcing talent for highly specialised commercial and support functions in life sciences. By implementing targeted search methodologies, leveraging a pre-qualified candidate network, and aligning closely with Oxford Nanopore’s hiring managers, SRC-Search successfully reduced the average time-to-hire by 50%, achieving an impressive start-to-fill rate of just 57 days across all placements.
The scope of recruitment was both senior and extensive. Pivotal leadership hires included a Senior Service & Support Director, two Sales Directors, and two Associate Sales Directors, all critical to driving strategic growth and operational excellence in the region. In addition, SRC-Search placed two Inside Sales Managers and filled every individual contributor position within commercial, support, and operations teams. This comprehensive coverage ensured Oxford Nanopore could maintain business momentum, meet revenue objectives, and strengthen customer-facing capabilities, all while scaling rapidly in competitive markets across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India.
