NanoString Technologies, now part of Bruker Corporation, is a leading provider of cutting-edge life science tools that empower translational research across a wide range of applications. At the heart of NanoString’s innovation is its proprietary digital molecular barcoding technology, originally developed at the Institute for Systems Biology in Seattle under the guidance of Dr. Leroy Hood.
Founded in 2003, NanoString launched its first commercial instrument in 2008, followed by international expansion and the release of multiplexed gene expression assays. The company continued to evolve, introducing capabilities for microRNA and gene expression detection in 2010.
NanoString has since become a pioneer in spatial biology. In 2019, it introduced the GeoMx™ Digital Spatial Profiler, offering highly multiplexed spatial analysis of RNA and proteins in tissue samples. Building on this momentum, the 2022 launch of CosMx™ Spatial Molecular Imager brought single-cell, high-plex, spatial multi-omics to both FFPE and fresh frozen tissue, enabling unprecedented insights into cell biology. That same year, the company unveiled AtoMx™ Spatial Informatics Platform—the first fully integrated, cloud-based solution for spatial biology data analysis.
In 2024, NanoString entered a new era by joining Bruker Corporation, a global leader in scientific instruments. This acquisition represents a powerful alignment of expertise, enabling even greater impact on biomedical discovery and the advancement of spatial biology worldwide.

In 2015, NanoString Technologies, a leader in spatial genomics and transcriptomics, began its recruitment partnership with SRC-Search.
At that time, NanoString sought to expand its market beyond academia – to the Pharma and Biotech sectors. SRC-Search assisted with hiring for commercial positions across EMEAI region.

Results
Across eight years of collaboration, SRC-Search became vital in securing essential hires for illumina, especially in Commercial and Service & Support roles, whilst also taking charge of entire customer facing team builds.
By effectively embedding as an external but internal Talent Acquisition Partner, SRC-Search played a vital role in filling the majority of commercial and customer-facing positions throughout the European region.
This strategic collaboration led to a very successful and streamlined recruitment process, enhancing efficiency and responsiveness to illumina’s increasing hiring needs across the region.
