About this role
A fantastic opportunity has arisen at Rapid Micro Biosystems (RMB) for a Field Service Engineer to join the Japanese Field Service team. As a Field Service Engineer, you will focus on the installation, preventive maintenance, and instrument qualification of the Growth DirectTM System to mainly pharmaceutical customers in Tokyo. The successful candidate will be able to develop a good relationship with the customer, whilst ensuring minimum system downtime. Your career at RMB puts you at the center of diverse global teams that span robotics, AI, Machine Learning, imaging, microbiology, and more, re-shaping how urgently needed pharmaceuticals are made, tested, and released for decades to come.

what you can expect...
- Collaborate with colleagues in our customer care center to efficiently schedule your service visits to meet and exceed customer expectations.
- Install all instrumentation sold by RMB, and trains customers in proper methods of operation, maintenance, and basic instrument repair procedures.
- Perform preventive maintenance and qualifications on customer instruments and help to improve instrument uptime and availability.
- Detailed preparation and documentation of maintenance and qualification activities to meet regulatory requirements.
Who are we looking for...
- Degree (minimum) in a Life Science or Mechanical, Electronic, Medical Engineering preferred.
- A highly motivated individual who is passionate about our customer’s success.
- Curiosity about laboratory instruments, systems, applications, new products, and technologies.
- Self-organized and efficient way of working.
- Ready to travel up to 75%.
- Collaborative nature and positive mindset.
- Fluency in Japanese and good knowledge of English.
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds (35 kg).
- Valid driving license and ability to travel within the designated area in the territory.
