About this role
We are seeking an experienced and highly strategic Commercial Development Director – Biopharma to lead Vizgen’s commercial engagement within the biopharma market.
This customer-facing role will focus on driving adoption of Vizgen’s combined spatial biology solutions, including lab services, MERSCOPE instrumentation, and Vizgen-Ultivue reagent portfolios across drug development organizations.
In addition to owning key biopharma relationships and driving direct customer engagement, this role will partner closely with Vizgen’s Regional Account Managers (RAMs) to support field execution and ensure alignment on biopharma strategy at the regional level.

Who are we looking for...
- Minimum 10 years of commercial experience in life science tools, genomics, molecular biology, or CRO services with a strong biopharma focus.
- Advanced degree preferred (PhD, MS, or equivalent) in molecular biology, genomics, or a related scientific discipline.
- Proven understanding of biopharma R&D, translational research, and the drug development process.
- Demonstrated success in market development, relationship-driven selling, and closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals.
- Existing relationships within biopharma R&D and translational teams strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication, executive presence, and collaboration skills with both external customers and internal field teams.
what you can expect...
- Develop and execute targeted commercial strategies to expand Vizgen’s (including Ultivue's) footprint across lab services, spatial instrumentation, and reagents in biopharma.
- Identify new business opportunities and lead outreach to emerging biopharma accounts.
- Provide biopharma-specific market intelligence and voice-of-customer feedback to internal teams.
- Serve as the senior commercial lead for key biopharma accounts, cultivating executive and scientific relationships across discovery, translational research, and biomarker development teams.
- Lead strategic customer discussions on spatial transcriptomics, multiplex protein imaging, and Vizgen’s differentiated value in drug development.
- Act as a biopharma market expert and strategic resource for Vizgen’s Regional Account Managers (RAMs).
- Support RAMs with account strategy, deal structuring, executive engagement, and closing complex biopharma opportunities.
- Assist in coordinating multi-site biopharma initiatives across regions to ensure consistency and alignment.
- Own revenue targets for assigned biopharma accounts.
- Drive service bookings, instrument placements (MERSCOPE and Ultivue platforms), and reagent pull-through.
- Lead and support complex negotiations, proposals, and contracting discussions.
- Represent Vizgen and Ultivue at industry conferences, symposia, and customer events specific to biopharma.
- Act as an internal biopharma subject matter expert, contributing to product positioning and go-to-market strategies.
