About this role
The Instrument Product Manager will be product ambassador and business owner of imaging instruments for Vizgen’s product portfolio. This role will be responsible for the entire scope of the product’s success, from concept and development, to launch and commercialization, to operational excellence and profitability. Instrument capability and functionality will be driven through close collaboration with internal stakeholders, market experience and feedback from customers and prospects. This role provides an opportunity to demonstrate a unique blend of business and technical skills and contribute to Vizgen’s bigger strategic vision.

Who are we looking for...
- B.S. or advanced degree in business or a scientific field.
- Deep market knowledge in fluorescent microscopy, tissue imaging, NGS, or spatial genomics.
- 5-7+ years of experience in product management, marketing, capital equipment sales, R&D, or a related function in Life Sciences.
- Strong ability to collaborate across teams and drive cross-functional success.
- Proven leadership experience, both formal and informal, in managing product lines.
- Highly motivated, results-driven, and strategic thinker with a history of delivering market-leading products.
- Innovative problem solver who makes data-driven business recommendations.
- Ability to adapt to rapidly evolving environments and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong verbal communication, presentation, and writing skills.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 20%).
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, documentation control, customer support ticketing systems, and other relevant business applications.

- Serve as the go-to product expert for sales, R&D, operations, finance, legal, and other cross-functional teams.
- Conduct voice-of-customer research and market analysis, using insights to shape product development and strategic planning.
- Define market user requirements for current and future products through direct engagement with customers and industry stakeholders.
- Champion the product to ensure it meets performance expectations and drive continuous improvements for broader market adoption.
- Manage product documentation and operational processes required for product development and commercialization.
- Work within multidisciplinary teams to support new product development efforts.
- Collaborate with other product managers to develop clear, compelling value propositions that attract market attention and drive adoption.
- Provide and manage revenue and unit forecasts based on commercial inputs.
- Partner with Sales and Operations to monitor instrument fulfillment and allocation.
- Identify and resolve product issues, driving internal improvements where needed.
- Conduct competitive analysis and establish product positioning and pricing strategies.
- Train global sales teams and distributors on product updates, positioning, and competitive landscape.
- Work closely with Marketing to shape event strategies, trade show participation, and advertising efforts.
