About this role
We are in search of a skilled and professional sales representative with a strong track record to oversee a territory and drive revenue growth by promoting Golden Helix products to both new and existing clients. This role is ideal for individuals with prior business-to-business sales experience who are adept at negotiating lab and enterprise software solutions with discerning and knowledgeable customers, and who are eager to make a significant impact within a cutting-edge, fast-paced environment. Candidates with less experience are also encouraged to apply; we offer entry-level inside sales positions focusing on prospecting for territory managers and engaging with prospects funneled through our marketing efforts. This position offers substantial opportunities for advancement, including the potential to manage an entire territory down the road.
As a member of the sales team, you will drive revenue by managing a territory and targeted accounts. You will have the opportunity to prospect within your territory, follow up with incoming leads and proactively contact customers to sell additional functionality or additional licenses, as well as generate referrals for new business. You will also have the opportunity to follow up with customers and prospects who attend marketing events, including webcasts, workshops or tradeshows. We will teach you how to close deals and ultimately help you to grow into an Area Director role.

Who are we looking for...
- A BSc degree in Science, Business, or related discipline.
- 3-5+ years B2B strategic selling experience, preferably in a life sciences or complex software environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to establish and develop relationships through phone and email communications.
- The ability to convey complex technical solutions to a sophisticated customer base.
- The ability and desire to acquire genetics and statistics domain knowledge quickly.
- Organized, self-motivated and results driven.
- Experience juggling multiple priorities and managing multiple projects.
- Occasionally out-of-town, overnight travel may be required.
what you can expect...
- Generate sales revenue via out-bound calls, product demonstrations and post-sale training presentations (via the internet and in person), sales travel, conference attendance, and other sales activities by selling Golden Helix software products.
- Process in-bound assigned leads and opportunities in a timely fashion, maintaining optimal utilization rates.
- Develop and manage territory and account plans to maximize software usage and uncover upsell opportunities in an assigned territory and within targeted accounts.
- Prospect to expand existing customer relationships, uncover referrals, and to generate new sales opportunities.
- Generate accurate sales reports and forecasts for weekly review with sales management.
- Learn and adhere to GHI’s documented sales processes utilizing complex selling techniques.
- Utilize and suggest improvements to internal sales systems to maximize personal effectiveness and utilization.
- Work with the Sales and Marketing Team to prioritize and schedule sales and conference trips.
